CAT SITTING CONTRACT
1.THE PARTIES
This Cat Sitting Contract is entered into between:
THE OWNER & THE SITTER
Sitter: REBECCA JONES, Portishead Cat Sitter

2. SERVICE PERIOD
The Service Period is the agreed cat sitting dates detailed in the email sent by The Owner and the Cat Sitting Summary sent by The Sitter. This contract will only need to be completed once by The Owner and will be valid for each Cat Sitting request until The Owner ceases to use the services of Portishead Cat Sitter.
3. CAT DETAILS
Provide details of cats age, sex, breed and medical conditions as these form part of this agreement
4.SERVICES PROVIDED
The Sitter agrees to provide the following services during each visit:
• Feeding and fresh-water provision
• Litter tray cleaning and maintenance
• Play, companionship and enrichment
• Administration of medication if required and agreed in advance
• Home security checks (lights, post, curtains as instructed)
• Update messages and/or photographs to the Owner
• Daily and twice daily visits as well as overnight stays (between 7pm-7am)

Keys will be held securely and returned at the end of the sit. A signed key receipt can be provided upon request.
6. LIABILITY
• The Sitter will carry out all duties to the best of her ability in a caring and responsible manner. The Sitter accepts no liability for any breach of security or loss or damage to the Owner’s property if any third party has access to the property during the term of this agreement.
• The Sitter shall not be liable for any mishap of whatsoever nature which may befall a pet who has unsupervised access to the outdoors. The Owner accepts full liability for any injury caused to the Sitter or damage to property caused by the pet(s).
• The Sitter is released from all liability related to transporting pet(s) to and from any veterinary clinic and the medical treatment and expense thereof.
7. EMERGENCIES
In the event of a veterinary emergency, the Sitter will contact the Owner on the numbers provided. If the Owner cannot be reached, the Sitter is authorised to:

• Transport the pet(s) to the listed veterinary practice
• Seek on-site veterinary treatment and all costs remain the sole responsibility of the Owner.
8. CANCELLATION POLICY
To cancel this agreement within 48 hours of the first scheduled visit will result in full payment taken. If more than 48 hours’ notice is given a full refund will be issued.
8a. AGREED SERVICE CUT SHORT
If service is cut short because the owner or family member returns home early, the unused visits will not be refunded.
9. KEY & SECURITY
The Sitter agrees to keep all keys, access codes, alarm details and personal information of the Owner strictly confidential and secure. All keys will be returned to the Owner at the conclusion of the agreed booking or immediately upon request.
10. GENERAL TERMS
This contract constitutes the entire agreement between the parties. Any amendments must be agreed in writing by both parties. This agreement may be delivered and acknowledged in electronic form.
11. VET DETAILS

In the event of a medical emergency and the owner cannot be reached, the Service Provider is authorised to seek veterinary treatment for the named cat(s). All costs remain the responsibility of the owner
12. TERMS & CONDITIONS
12.1 Health & Vaccination
The client confirms that all cats are up to date with vaccinations, flea, and worming treatments. The Service Provider reserves the right to decline service if a cat appears unwell in a manner that poses a risk to the sitter or other animals.
12.2 Liability
Portishead Cat Sitter will take all reasonable steps to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of each cat. The Service Provider shall not be liable for any illness, injury, escape, loss, or death unless caused directly by proven gross negligence on the part of the Service Provider.
12.3 Insurance
It is strongly recommended that the client maintains pet insurance. The client acknowledges that the Service Provider is not responsible for veterinary fees arising from illness or accident during the care period, except where caused by proven negligence.
12.4 Unforeseen Circumstances
In the event of illness, emergency, or circumstances beyond the Service Provider's control that prevent a scheduled visit, every effort will be made to arrange suitable alternative care, and the client will be notified at the earliest opportunity.
12.5 Communication & Updates
Regular updates (photos and messages) will be provided via the agreed channel. The client agrees to remain contactable during the service period, or to ensure an emergency contact is reachable.
12.6 Right to Photograph
Photos taken during visits are for update purposes. Images will only be shared publicly or used in promotional materials with the client's explicit consent.
12.7 Governing Law
This agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall first be addressed through good-faith discussion between the parties.
13. DATA PROTECTION
Personal information collected in this agreement is held solely to provide cat sitting services and will not be shared with third parties except where necessary for veterinary care.
Data is held in accordance with the UK GDPR.
14. CLIENT CONSENT
I confirm that all information provided in this agreement is accurate to the best of my knowledge. I authorise the Service Provider to seek emergency veterinary care for my cat(s) if deemed necessary and I am unreachable. I have read and agree to the terms and conditions set out in this contract.

15. SIGNATURES
Signatures obtained for both the owner and cat sitter and copies of the contract are distributed to both parties on the Cat Sitting Contract.
